Project Details
The PATT nursery is used for producing native tree seedlings to restore degraded areas of Khao Yai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The establishment of the nursery was made possible by funding from Raimon Land PLC, a Thailand property development company with a history of support for PATT Foundatio. PATT also worked in partnership with PDA (Population and Community Development Association) who agreed to supply the land for the nursery. The location of the facility is within the boundaries of the Cabbages and Condoms Resort, Sap Tai, Phaya Yen sub-district, Pak Chong, Nakon Ratchasima (Korat) province.
Ecological surveys are also being conducted to examine the existing forest and to identify important tree species to be propagated in the nursery.
The PATT Tree Nursery Project was started in August 2008, and now we have more than 7,000 seedlings of 34 native species in the nursery and 4,000 seedlings have already been planted in the Khao Yai National Park area.
