Voice Your Opinion

Let your representatives know how you feel about the issues. Next time you hear someone complain about rotten politicians, tell them to do the same. Politicians can´t vote in your direction if they don't know which way you want them to go and why.

Step 1: Know the issue. What legislation is coming to a vote soon? Are there environmental implications, even if it is not a strictly environmental initiative?

Step 2: Locate your representatives. Get their contact details. You can phone, email, or write a letter.

Step 3: Write your message. Be brief and to the point. Reference specific legislation if possible. State your vote on the legislation/issue and your reasoning. Keep it to one page only. Write letters for both national and local representatives. The more people who know, the better.

This is a great website which will help you find your reps, track the issues, AND most importantly, see how they are voting. Then you can add your two cents!

Our standard carbon offsets are generated within a project site located in the Khao Yai region of Thailand. Khao Yai is an ecologically sensitive region and home to a number of threatened and endangered plant and animal species, including some of the last remaining tiger populations in Thailand. Over the years the forest habitat in this region has suffered degradation from illegal encroachment, fire and past logging activities.
