Standard Chartered and PATT in Sri Lanka

In year 2011 Standard Chartered Bank joined PATT at Atale, Kalutara in Sri Lanka to  plant 10, 500 native trees. The tree planting was coordinated through 3rd party – OARM (Organization for Aquatic Resources Management).

The saplings were planted on the Kahagalla hill near the town of Baduraliya.

This project is part of SCB´s corporate social responsibility initiative. SCB has dedicated itself to protecting the environment, working closely with PATT on a total of five projects in Asia. This corporate social responsibility effort is to offset the bank’s carbon emission from flights and combat climate change which resulted in several thousand tree planted in four different countries.
