Bangkok kids from Wad Don School learned how to be the Earth Hero to fight climate change!

Location: Phra Padaeng, Thailand
Date: 11th July 2015
No. of trees planted: 120 Trees

Thank you to Thaiyarnyon Automobile group again to bring us another Thai school from the heart of Bangkok, Wad Don School, Sathorn to plant trees and learn about forest and impact of climate change with us at Phrapadaeng.

We got 50 kids and 10 dedicated teachers to come to learn and help to add more life to the Lungs of Bangkok to provide cleaner air and water for the Bangkok city. Before planting could take place, students had to learn more about this urban forest. They also were taken on a forest trail which they learned about Pongpong trees, termites, fire ants, and fruit trees that are important to local community. Later, the kids were enjoying potting the seedlings of the black mangrove.

Also the planting was definitely challenging as kids needed to cross a few bamboo and palm tree bridges before arriving to the planting site – and one or two did slipped into the muddy canal while trying to cross. All of them were extremely proud of their good green work and having a lot of fun.

During activities, the kids showed the good heart to help local staff to wash the glasses that the local community served them the “Butterfly Pea” flower drink that all of them loved it a lot.

The kids from Thai schools also have the ritual to thank the food before they having for lunch as to show the gratefulness to the farmers and whoever produced the food for them.

We would like to thank Thaiyarnyon Automobile Group very much for their great hospitality to provide the opportunities for local Thai schools to learn with us and also plant trees to support community.
